Adventures of Felix

A sexy and marvelous French film about a French/Arab gay man Felix who sets off on a journey in search of family with a backpack and a rainbow kite. FABULOUS! A very well done flick. Drama! Comedy! Plus Felix is gorgeous. I wish more gay filmed were filmed with this level of production and acting skills. Ooo-La-La! I think I’ll go watch it again! C’mon baby! Take that shirt of for l’il ol’ me one more time!

An extremely entertaining and sensual gay road movie. Felix (Sami Bouajila) is a gentle, carefree French-Arab living in Normandy with his lover, who, after finding himself suddenly unemployed, decides to

All Over the Guy

A contemporary romantic comedy about the universal quest for that one true love. Awwww … how sweet. All Over the Guy is mah kind of movie … finding love and getting it in the … uh … end. Ahem. Decently filmed and acted though there are a few slow spots and the movie lacks a true hard … uh … edge. Yeah. Everybody’s just so damned sweet. You there! Boy! Why’s my martini glass empty?

Opposites attract in this romantic comedy about two very different gay men and their search for true love. Eli (Dan Bucatinsky, who wrote the screenplay based on his stage production) is a cute, neurotic X-Files

Tom Steffen’s OUT(?) Magazine Bit

Tom Steffen looks like a sane person, but don’t judge a book by its cover. His off-kilter outlook on life keeps audiences laughing for more.

And Then Came Summer

Now Dah-lings, could we go back to school and do this over again? The writer needs help, the actors most assuredly need help. Can ah say FLAT? How ’bout UNTRAINED? They’ve all come from the Bob Hope school of acting … reading off of cue cards. This is assuming they’ve acted before. However, despite the failures ah feel there are some truly heart-wrenching moments that make it a worthwhile watch as teenage boys discover their feelings for each other, only to be found out by their families. The exposed relationship leads to finding out one

Another Gay Movie

Totally rocking, Another Gay Movie takes us on an ass-tacular journey as four adorable gay teens do their best to get laid the summer they graduate from high school. Yes. You HAVE heard the plot before … in several movies of its ilk … American Pie being the most recently famous (Now relegated to the land of un-ending, un-spectacular bad sequels.) Only this time, its filmed in a world where homosexuality is the norm. Ahhhhh. If this were only the case.

Let’s meet the targets of affection: You have studly jock Jarod (Jonathan Chase), who thinks he’s “top” but we all know better; nerdy Griff (Mitch Morris), who secretly harbors a crush on Jarod while obsessing about

Lush Life: A Novel by Richard Price

No one has a better ear and eye for the American city than Richard Price, and in Lush Lifee, his first novel in five years, he leaves the fictional environs of Dempsy, New Jersey, where Clockers, Freedomland, and Samaritan were set, for a few crowded blocks of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. There’s a crime at the heart of the story, but you don’t read Price for plot. Instead, you listen as he peels apart layers of class and history through the way his characters talk to each

Interview: Elvira Kurt: Canuck of All Trades

It’s hard to find a comedian quite like Elvira Kurt. Perhaps best known in the States for her painfully hilarious insights about growing up as the gay daughter of Hungarian immigrants in her native Toronto, she is also a seasoned television personality with a unique knack for bringing audiences directly into her equally unique world.

Not only is the stand-up veteran a cheeky performer with all the right resume highlights - the tours, the films, the television, the Second City stint - she’s also a vocal advocate for women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, and a seasoned performer of Eve Ensler’s iconic ode to every-women’s “down-there,” The Vagina Monologues. With a recent appearance at the Michigan Womyn’s Festival and an ongoing gig as a Canadian TV superstar, the

Bar Girls

It is often misunderstood that lesbian films must be serious in nature. This theory does not hold true for the movie Bar Girls, a romantic- comedy film based on the lesbian life and culture. Bar Girls, which was released in the early 1990’s, has received much praise and acclaim from those that are lesbians as well as those that appreciate the lesbian lifestyle.

Bar Girls, which was created from a play by Lauran Hoffman, was brought to life on the silver screen from the stages in Los Angeles. Many of the characters that were in the Los Angeles play were also in the movie, as well as a special cameo
